Ergonomics

Nobody sees our backpacks’ ergonomic features, but you can definitely tell the difference. Drawing on athletic and hiking rucksacks as inspiration, we’ve developed a concept that lightens your load, grows along with you, and stays super comfortable even when it’s packed full. And they look cool doing it, too.

Our ergonomic design

Very, if you ask us! And the Institut für Gesundheit und Ergonomie agrees with us – they’ve certified our backpacks as ergonomic products. The satch load-carrying system is based on three basic principles:

1. Individual size adjustment
2. Anatomical shape
3. Uniform weight distribution

Individual size adjustment

Your backpack, your choice – and your size! The your-size system lets you adjust our backpacks to fit anyone between 1,40 m and 1,80 m They’re infinitely variable and easy to adjust as often as you want.

Anatomical shape

Everyone’s body is different, and that’s a good thing! Our anatomically shaped shoulder straps adapt to each person’s torso for maximum wearing comfort. The S-shaped rail built into the back panel and the padded lower-back support make our bags even more anatomical.

Weight distribution concept

Connect four! All satch backpacks distribute weight perfectly among four points of support: at the tops of the shoulders, above the hip area, on the stable base and above the anatomically shaped shoulder straps. The clever thing about our concept is that even if you don’t close the chest strap and hip belt when carrying the bag, its weight is still distributed among the straps, the tops of the shoulders, and the lower-back support. Cool, right? But we still recommend always closing the straps and making sure everything sits right when you’re adjusting and packing the bag.
